# GOT YOUR HAIL ESTIMATE? HERE’S WHAT TO DO NEXT

Quick Answer

Check that it lists every damaged panel, then pick your shop and send them the estimate. You don’t need to wait for a check or for the insurer to tell you where to go. Arizona law (A.R.S. § 20-468) lets you choose any shop, and the shop can send your adjuster a supplement for anything the first estimate missed. Most people lose time here by waiting for something that isn’t coming. At DG Collision Center’s Phoenix shop, you can text a photo of your estimate to (602) 935-6008 and we’ll tell you if it looks short. Qualifying claims are $0 out of pocket, with free pickup and a free loaner.

Step By Step

## FIVE STEPS FROM ESTIMATE TO DRIVING YOUR CAR

| Step | What you do | What it gets you |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Read it | Look for each hit panel, the dent counts and any deductions | You’ll spot a missing roof rail or an odd deduction early |
| 2. Pick a shop | Choose by address, written prices and warranty | Your choice under A.R.S. § 20-468 |
| 3. Send it | Text the estimate and claim number to the shop | The shop can start the count and talk to your adjuster |
| 4. Drop off or get picked up | Schedule the date and reserve your loaner | Loaners are limited, so earlier gives you more dates |
| 5. Get it back | Daylight inspection and written warranty | Keep the invoice; it matters when you sell |

## THREE THINGS THAT TRIP PEOPLE UP

"I’m waiting on the check." The check isn’t permission to start. Once your insurer has approved the claim, a shop can usually schedule you. Read more on [what to do with the check](https://dgcollision.com/answers/insurance-check-for-hail-damage-arizona/).

"The estimate is low, so I’ll argue first." Arguing the total rarely helps. A written count under PDR lights is what changes the number, and that comes from the shop. Under A.A.C. R20-6-801(H)(5) you’re entitled to a copy of the insurer’s estimate, so start from that.

"I’ll do it later." You may have time, but dates fill up after a storm. Here’s [how long you can wait](https://dgcollision.com/answers/how-long-can-i-wait-to-fix-hail-damage-arizona/).

Your share. On qualifying claims from the October 20–21, 2026 storms, we cover the first $1,000 of your deductible; if yours is higher, the rest is case by case, and we do our best. Everything is written on the estimate. Our page on [auto hail repair in Phoenix](https://dgcollision.com/hail-damage-repair-phoenix/) has prices and pickup details. General information, not legal advice.

Related Questions

## ASKED ALONGSIDE THIS ONE

**Q: Do I have to wait for the insurance check to start?**

A: Usually not. Once the claim is approved, text us the claim number and we’ll schedule. The check goes toward the repair when it arrives.

**Q: Should I sign anything from the insurer?**

A: Read it first. Be careful with anything described as a release or final settlement, and ask your adjuster what it covers before signing.

**Q: What if the estimate seems fine?**

A: Then the repair can move ahead on it. We still count under PDR lights, because the shop has to fix what’s really there.

**Q: How soon can you take my car?**

A: It depends on the schedule and loaner availability. Text or call (602) 935-6008 and we’ll give you the next open dates.
