TL;DR

Yes, hail hit the Glendale area on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Between 3:25 and 3:34 PM the National Weather Service logged four hail reports along the Glendale and Peoria line: 1.00-inch hail near Cactus Road at about 35th Avenue and again near 51st Avenue, 1.25-inch hail near Thunderbird Road in the 40s avenues, and a 2-inch stone near Peoria Avenue and 35th Avenue by Metrocenter, the largest of the day anywhere in the Valley. The NWS names these reports after Glendale and Peoria as reference points; the pins themselves sit between roughly 35th and 51st Avenues, where Phoenix, Glendale and Peoria meet. DG Collision Center repairs the damage at 649 W Hatcher Rd in north Phoenix, a few miles east. For qualifying claims we cover the deductible up to $2,000 depending on the damage, pickup and drop-off are free, and the line at (602) 935-6008 takes calls and texts 24/7.

- Date of loss: October 21, 2026, between about 3:25 and 3:35 PM.

- Largest stone: 2.00″, estimated from a photo, near Peoria Ave & 35th Ave (logged as 4 NE Glendale).

- Also logged: a 60 mph wind gust near Camelback Road and 35th Avenue at 3:30 PM.

- Your right: Arizona law (A.R.S. § 20-468) lets you choose any repair shop.

NWS Phoenix, October 21

## THE GLENDALE AND PEORIA LINE: FIVE REPORTS IN NINE MINUTES

These are the reports the National Weather Service office in Phoenix logged on the west side of the October 21 storm. We’ve added the nearest major cross streets from each report’s coordinates. Those coordinates are rounded to about half a mile, so read every location as “roughly near.”

Time & NWS location Report Roughly near

3:25 PM · 4 ENE Peoria 1.00″ hail Cactus Road around 51st Avenue

3:25 PM · 5 NE Glendale 1.00″ hail Cactus Road around 35th Avenue

3:30 PM · 5 SSW Deer Valley 1.25″ hail Thunderbird Road in the 40s avenues

3:30 PM · 4 ESE Glendale 60 mph gust Camelback Road around 35th Avenue (wind only, no hail size logged)

3:34 PM · 4 NE Glendale 2.00″ hail Peoria Avenue around 35th Avenue, by Metrocenter. A public photo; the largest stone estimated at 2 inches

The storm built over this stretch first. The two quarter-size reports at 3:25 PM are the earliest hail of the afternoon, and over the next twenty minutes the storm pushed northeast through Moon Valley and Deer Valley. Our [north Phoenix page](https://dgcollision.com/hail-damage-repair-north-phoenix/) covers that part, and the full two-day log is on the [October 20–21 Phoenix storm page](https://dgcollision.com/hail-storms/october-20-21-2026-phoenix-hail/).

Reading The Log Honestly

## “4 NE GLENDALE” ISN’T AN ADDRESS

The NWS doesn’t log hail by city limits. Each report gets a distance and direction from a fixed reference point, and “Glendale” and “Peoria” are two of those points. “4 NE Glendale” means about four miles northeast of that point. In this case that puts the day’s biggest stone near Peoria Avenue and 35th Avenue, an area most people would call Metrocenter, on the Phoenix side of the line.

That matters in two ways. If you live in Glendale proper and assumed the headline 2-inch report landed on your street, it may not have. The reports cluster east of 51st Avenue, and we haven’t seen a logged report from the older neighborhoods around downtown Glendale. The other side cuts the same way: these are point reports from people who stopped to measure, so a street with no pin can still have been hit. Hail falls in a swath, and five reports in nine minutes means a lot of ground in between.

For a claim, your insurer cares about the date and the damage, not which town’s name is on the report. If your car was parked anywhere between Camelback and Thunderbird, west of I-17, on Wednesday afternoon, check it. If you find dents, the date of loss is October 21, 2026.

What To Look For

## QUARTERS TO A 2-INCH STONE: WHAT EACH SIZE DOES

Quarter-size (1.00″), along Cactus Road. Expect shallow, round dents on the flat panels: hood, roof and trunk lid. They’re easy to miss in midday sun. Look along the panel from a low angle early in the morning or under a garage light, and you’ll see the reflection ripple at each dent. These are usually clean paintless dent repair jobs.

Walnut-size (1.25″), near Thunderbird. Deeper dents, closer together, and the first real risk to roof rails, mirror caps and plastic trim. Check the top edges of the doors and the window moldings too.

2-inch stones, around Metrocenter. Hail this size can crack paint on the crown of a hood or roof, chip glass and break lamp lenses. Look for spiderweb lines in the clear coat, not just dents. Cracked panels need conventional repair rather than PDR, and the estimate should say which panels fall in which group before anything is filed.

The 60 mph gust near Camelback is a wind report, not hail. If a branch or debris hit your car in that wind, that’s storm damage too, and it usually falls under the same comprehensive coverage. Confirm with your carrier.

Published Pricing

## GLENDALE HAIL REPAIR PRICES

| Damage | Published price | Where this storm fits |
|---|---|---|
| A few dents, paid in cash (PDR) | $75–$200 per dent | A handful of quarter-size dents. Covers dents up to about half-dollar size; larger ones are priced after inspection, and any trim removal is quoted first. |
| Light hail, 1–2 panels | $750–$1,500 | A hood or roof with scattered quarter-size dents along Cactus Road. |
| Typical full-vehicle claim | $5,000–$12,000 | A car that sat out for the walnut-size hail near Thunderbird. |
| Severe: cracked paint or glass | $7,500–$15,000+ | 2-inch strikes around Metrocenter that cracked paint, glass or lenses. |

On an insurance claim the carrier pays for the repair. For qualifying claims from this storm we cover your deductible up to $2,000, depending on the damage. Glendale Questions

## GLENDALE HAIL FAQ

**Q: Did it hail in Glendale, AZ on October 21, 2026?**

A: Yes. The National Weather Service logged four hail reports along the Glendale and Peoria line between 3:25 and 3:34 PM on October 21, 2026, from quarter size up to a 2-inch stone near Peoria Avenue and 35th Avenue.

**Q: The report says “4 NE Glendale.” Is that in Glendale?**

A: Not necessarily. The NWS logs each report as a distance and direction from a reference point. “4 NE Glendale” is about four miles northeast of that point, which puts it near Peoria Avenue and 35th Avenue by Metrocenter, on the Phoenix side.

**Q: How big was the hail near Metrocenter?**

A: The largest stone was estimated at 2 inches from a public photo, logged at 3:34 PM. That tied for the largest hail anywhere in the Phoenix area across both October storms.

**Q: I live in Peoria. Was my area hit?**

A: The nearest Peoria-named report is 1.00-inch hail at 3:25 PM, logged as 4 ENE Peoria, which sits near Cactus Road and 51st Avenue. We haven’t seen a logged report farther west. Reports are point samples, so check your car anyway if it was outside that afternoon.

**Q: Something blew into my car in the wind. Is that covered?**

A: A 60 mph gust was logged near Camelback Road and 35th Avenue at 3:30 PM. Damage from wind-blown branches or debris is storm damage, and it usually falls under comprehensive coverage like hail does. Confirm the details with your carrier.

**Q: How far is your shop from Glendale?**

A: Our shop is at 649 W Hatcher Rd in north Phoenix, a few miles east of the Glendale reports. Most Glendale and Peoria drivers can get there in a short drive, or we pick the car up and drop it off for free.

**Q: Is the hail repair really free?**

A: On a qualifying claim it can be. Your insurer pays the repair, and for qualifying claims from this storm we cover your deductible up to $2,000, depending on the damage. If your deductible is higher than what the damage qualifies for, the difference is written on the estimate before any work starts.

**Q: ¿Me pueden atender en español?**

A: Sí. Hablamos español en el taller y en la línea (602) 935-6008, las 24 horas. Recogemos su carro en Glendale o Peoria sin costo y le explicamos el presupuesto y el reclamo en español.
