DO YOU PAY THE SHOP, OR DOES INSURANCE?
Usually both, in different amounts: your insurer pays the repair minus your deductible, and the deductible is your share. How the money moves depends on the insurer. Some pay the shop directly, and some send you a check that you then bring to the shop. USAA’s claims page, for example, says STARS network shops are paid directly and that you pay your deductible to the shop once repairs are complete. On qualifying hail claims at DG Collision Center’s Phoenix shop, we cover the first $1,000 of that deductible, so many customers owe $0 out of pocket. The amount is written on your estimate before work starts. Text (602) 935-6008 with questions.

HOW THE MONEY USUALLY MOVES
YOUR DEDUCTIBLE AND OUR OFFER
It’s your share of the claim. The insurer subtracts it from what it pays. On qualifying claims from the October 20–21, 2026 storms, we cover the first $1,000 of it; above that, it’s case by case, and we do our best.
Yes, that’s allowed when the bill is honest. We bill your insurer the real cost of the repair, and the discount comes out of our margin. Arizona treats padded bills as fraud under A.R.S. § 20-463, which is why we won’t pad one. See can a shop cover your deductible.
What about the insurer’s timing? Under A.R.S. § 20-462, a first-party claim not paid within 30 days after an acceptable proof of loss owes interest at the legal rate. If a payment is overdue, ask your adjuster in writing.
The loaner. It’s free to you. When your policy includes rental coverage we bill your insurer for it; when it doesn’t, you still pay nothing. Under A.R.S. § 20-468 the shop is your choice. More on hail damage repair in Phoenix. General information, not legal advice.
