HAIL CLAIM DENIED IN ARIZONA?
Get the denial in writing and read the reason. Arizona’s claim rule, A.A.C. R20-6-801(G)(1), requires a denial to be given in writing, and if it rests on a specific policy provision, condition or exclusion, the denial has to refer to it. Some reasons can’t be fixed, like having liability-only coverage. Others often can: a wrong date of loss, damage blamed on an earlier storm, or an estimate that came in under your deductible because dents were missed. Send your insurer the correction with photos, a written dent count and the storm record, and ask for another review. If you hit a wall, you can complain to the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions.

COMMON REASONS, AND WHAT TO DO
HOW TO ASK FOR ANOTHER LOOK
1. Get the letter. If you were told no by phone, ask for it in writing. The written denial tells you exactly what you’re answering.
2. Gather the proof. Dated photos, the location of the car during the storm, and the verified reports on our Phoenix storm log, which lists report times, places and stone sizes. A written dent count shows what the hail actually did.
3. Ask for a review. Write to your adjuster or their supervisor, quote the reason given, and attach what answers it. You open the claim and make the request; we provide the dent count, photos and estimate.
4. Go outside the insurer if needed. The Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions takes complaints at azdfi.gov. Your policy’s appraisal clause, if it has one, generally deals with disagreements over the amount, not whether something is covered. For a coverage fight on a large loss, an attorney may be worth a call.
IF THE ANSWER STAYS NO
Small hail jobs can make sense in cash. At our shop, paintless dent repair runs $75–$200 per dent for dents up to about half-dollar size; larger dents are priced after inspection, and any trim removal is quoted first. If your claim is approved or overturned, qualifying claims from these storms get the first $1,000 of the deductible covered (above that, case by case, and we do our best), and A.R.S. § 20-468 lets you choose any shop.
