HOW LONG DOES HAIL REPAIR TAKE IN PHOENIX?
It depends on the dent count and whether any paint cracked. A light paintless dent repair job on one or two panels is often a few days. A typical full-vehicle hail claim usually takes longer, often a week or more, and waiting on insurance approval, supplements or parts adds time. Panels with cracked paint need conventional repair and refinishing, which takes longer than PDR. We give you the timeline in writing with the estimate. Pickup and drop-off are free, and we help arrange a rental while the car is with us.
The Longer Answer
WHAT ACTUALLY SETS THE CLOCK
Dent count and size. Every dent is worked individually. A hood with a few dozen quarter-size dents is a different day than a roof, hood and trunk lid hit by 1.75-inch hail. The written dent count we do at the start is the honest basis for the timeline.
Paint. If the paint held, paintless dent repair keeps the factory finish and skips sanding, filler and paint booth time. If 2-inch strikes cracked the paint, like some reported near Metrocenter and in northeast Mesa, those panels need conventional repair, and that adds days.
Access. Reaching the back of a roof can mean lowering the headliner; reaching a hood, removing an insulation pad. That removal and reinstallation work is part of the job and part of the time.
The insurance side. Approval and any supplements for hidden damage move at the insurer’s pace. Arizona’s claim rule, A.A.C. R20-6-801, generally requires insurers to acknowledge a claim within 10 working days and accept or deny within 15 working days after proof of loss. In practice many hail claims move faster. We send clear photos and a complete estimate up front so the file doesn’t stall.
While you wait. If your policy carries rental coverage, it usually pays a daily amount while covered repairs are underway, and we help you set it up. We pick up and drop off the car for free, so the only trip you make is none. On qualifying claims from the October 20–21 storms, the repair is $0 out of pocket: your insurer pays it, and we cover your deductible up to $2,000, depending on the damage. You also choose the shop under A.R.S. § 20-468.
