Serving Plano Drivers

The Collision Center for Plano's Corporate-HQ & EV Fleet

Plano's driveway fleet doesn't look like anywhere else we serve. This is the corporate-headquarters hub of north Texas — roughly 290,000 residents (up slightly from the 2020 census of 285,494 per the City of Plano), anchored by Toyota Motor North America's global HQ at Legacy West, Liberty Mutual Insurance's regional campus, Frito-Lay's headquarters, Cinemark, Capital One Plano, Dr Pepper Snapple, and the dense Legacy West / Shops at Legacy mixed-use district that draws executives and tech workers from across the metroplex. The result is a household fleet that runs heavier on luxury SUVs and EVs than almost anywhere else in DFW: Tesla Model Y / X / S, Lucid Air, Rivian R1S / R1T, Range Rover Sport / Velar, BMW X5 / X7 / iX, Audi Q7 / Q8 / e-tron, Lexus RX / GX, Mercedes GLE / EQS, Porsche Cayenne / Taycan. West Plano in particular ranks among the highest-EV-density zip codes in the state.

The damage patterns we see from Plano reflect that fleet and that geography. SH 121 / DNT commuter-stacking rear-enders are the highest-volume category — the SH 121 / Dallas North Tollway interchange at Sam Rayburn Plaza is one of the tightest weave patterns in north DFW, and the tollways cruise 55-70 mph right up to the bottleneck. The President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) running east-west through south Plano produces the same kind of highway-speed stacking. When a stacking accident happens at tollway speed, airbags engage, structural rails flex, ADAS brackets behind the bumper bend, and radar + camera alignment drifts — which is why our in-house ADAS recalibration capability matters more on Plano work than almost any other corridor. Legacy West and corporate-campus garage strikes are the second pattern — Toyota Motor North America's executive decks, the Liberty Mutual campus garages, and the Shops at Legacy retail/restaurant valet zones all produce the low-speed sideswipe / door-ding flow you'd expect from a corridor that pulls weekday corporate traffic from across north Texas. The Shops at Willow Bend mall-lot contact rounds out the cosmetic-repair end — Saturday afternoon mall parking, Nordstrom and Dillard's anchor traffic, restaurant valet at the lower-level dining, all generating weekly fender-scrape volume.

We treat every one of these repairs the way the engineers intended — computerized frame measurement on every collision-damaged unibody, OEM parts on every safety-critical component, pre- and post-repair diagnostic scans, and full collision repair plus paint & refinishing under the same roof. On the aluminum-intensive Teslas, BMW 5/7/8 Series, Audi A8 / Q7 / Q8, and aluminum-body F-150s that populate Plano driveways, that means aluminum GMA welding handled by I-CAR Platinum-certified technicians — not a sublet. On the rapidly growing Tesla, Lucid, and Rivian volume from West Plano, that means the full Tesla body shop capability with high-voltage EV safety credentialing for legal HV-system disable before any structural work begins, plus OEM EV parts sourced direct. For Plano's Porsche, Ferrari, and Bentley owners, see our luxury & exotic repair umbrella. Lifetime paint warranty. Free loaner cars so your commute to Legacy West, the Toyota campus, downtown Dallas, or back up the DNT keeps moving. No charge for the written estimate. Start online below, or walk in any weekday between 8:30am and 5:30pm — we're 25-35 minutes west via SH 121 or PGBT.

What We Handle

COLLISION CENTER SERVICES FOR PLANO

The damage patterns we see most from West Plano, Legacy West, and the 75023-75094 corridor — plus everything else.

Rear-End Collision Repair

SH 121, DNT, and PGBT tollway stacking hits are never "just a bumper" — 55-70 mph impacts flex structural rails and damage ADAS brackets behind the fascia. We repair the unibody, replace OEM safety components, and recalibrate every sensor before you drive it home.

Front-End Damage

Hoods, fenders, headlights, radiator support, and frame horns. Airbag, crash-sensor, and condenser replacement on OEM procedures — never recycled guesswork on safety-critical parts common in newer luxury and EV construction.

Legacy West / Tollway Tesla & EV Repair

The Plano signature repair. Tesla Model 3 / Y / S / X, Lucid Air, Rivian R1S / R1T, Mercedes EQS, BMW iX, Audi e-tron — full HV-system safe disable, aluminum-intensive structural welding (I-CAR Platinum aluminum-GMA), battery-tray substructure repair, OEM EV parts sourced direct, and Autopilot / DreamDrive / Driver+ recalibration. Plus Legacy West and Shops at Willow Bend garage-strike door dings, mirror damage, and bumper curb rash. Spectrophotometer factory color match.

Frame Straightening

Computerized frame measurement on Blackhawk Korek + Hein-Werner SHARK. Accurate to 1mm of factory dimensions. Free on every collision vehicle — even estimate-only visits. Frame repair detail →

ADAS Recalibration

Lane-departure cameras, blind-spot radar, adaptive cruise, parking sensors — calibrated to OEM static and dynamic spec after every collision. With Plano's newer vehicle fleet, this is mandatory, not optional. ADAS detail →

Paint & Refinishing

PPG Envirobase waterborne basecoat in a downdraft heated booth. Color-matched to your vehicle's factory paint code via spectrophotometer — metallics and pearls included. Lifetime warranty. Paint service detail →

The DG Standard

WHY PLANO DRIVERS CHOOSE DG

Not the closest chain shop off SH 121 — the closest shop that does the work the way Tesla, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Range Rover, and every OEM engineer actually want it done.

01

Plano hit ~285,000 residents at the 2020 census and is still growing, anchored by Toyota Motor North America HQ, Liberty Mutual, Frito-Lay, Cinemark, and the dense Legacy West corporate corridor. The driveway fleet reflects that household profile: luxury SUVs, EVs, and European performance vehicles as the median rather than the exception. Combine that with SH 121, the Dallas North Tollway, and the President George Bush Turnpike all running through town at 55-70 mph and the average collision we see is structurally serious, not cosmetic. Gold Class is the shop-wide I-CAR designation (only ~10% of U.S. body shops hold it). Platinum is the technician certification covering structural repair, steel GMA welding, and aluminum GMA welding — the last one is non-negotiable on the aluminum-intensive Teslas, Lucid Air, BMW 5/7/8 Series, Audi A8 / Q7 / Q8, and aluminum-body F-150s that populate Plano driveways. A general-purpose body shop without aluminum certification cannot legally weld those panels per OEM procedure.

02

Insurers have preferred-shop lists, and the "recommended" shops for Plano customers are usually nearby high-volume chain locations — farther, busier, and not always Gold Class. Texas law — Insurance Code §1952.301 — says you don't have to go there. When an adjuster pushes you toward a network shop, you just say "I want my vehicle repaired at DG Collision Center, 693 Metro Park Cir, Lewisville, TX." Call done. We handle the claim paperwork, adjuster scheduling, and supplement negotiations from there — especially useful on the higher-value luxury and EV repairs where supplement negotiation often makes the difference between OEM parts and aftermarket substitutes.

03

Most collision shops in DFW sublet their ADAS recalibration — a windshield shop here, a dealer service bay there, two extra days in the schedule, and zero quality control over the final aiming. We do every calibration in-house on Autel MaxiSys target boards, Bosch DAS 3000 tools, and Hunter HawkEye Elite alignment verification, with a printed report filed against the repair. For Plano's luxury + EV + ADAS-heavy fleet that's the difference between a repair that works and one that silently doesn't — Tesla Autopilot, Lucid DreamDrive, Rivian Driver+, BMW Driving Assistant, Lexus Safety System+, Audi pre sense, Mercedes Driver Assistance, and Range Rover driver-assist all require post-repair recalibration, and lane-keep steering you the wrong way at 65 mph on SH 121, the DNT, or the PGBT is not a theoretical problem.

04

Free loaner cars on every collision repair from our 50+ vehicle loaner fleet — so your commute to Legacy West, the Toyota or Liberty Mutual corporate campuses, downtown Dallas, or DFW Airport keeps moving. Pickup coordination available for Plano customers anywhere in 75023, 75024, 75025, 75074, 75075, 75093, or 75094 who need a ride home after drop-off — Legacy West, Willow Bend, Hunters Glen, Russell Creek, Shoal Creek, Deerfield, Bent Tree, Park Forest, Hidden Hollow, Historic Downtown Plano. Lifetime paint warranty for as long as you own the vehicle — not three years, not "until you trade it in." We also offer deductible assistance up to $1,000 on qualifying repairs, applied directly at pickup. Combined with our direct-to-insurance claim handling, most customers pay less out of pocket than the initial deductible number suggests.

From The Shop Floor

Three Recent Repairs From Plano Drivers

Customer identifying details omitted; vehicles and circumstances are real recent work from 75023-75094 drivers.

2023 Tesla Model X, Legacy West — Toyota campus garage strike on the upper deck during a Friday afternoon. Another driver swung wide turning into a stall and clipped the rear quarter panel and the falcon-wing door on the passenger side. Tesla's aluminum rear quarter required I-CAR Platinum aluminum-GMA welding in our segregated aluminum bay — the falcon-wing hinge geometry is unforgiving, and the door has to swing perfectly square through every position to clear the Tesla-specific opening sequence. New OEM Tesla door skin and quarter-panel section sourced direct from Tesla collision parts (12-day wait, common on Model X). Color-matched Solid Black via spectrophotometer (the only Tesla finish that doesn't require multi-coat blending). Recalibrated rear blind-spot camera and Autopilot lane-keep camera on our Autel MaxiSys after re-attachment. Total in-shop time: 15 business days. Tesla Insurance settled direct.

2022 Lucid Air Touring, West Plano (Willow Bend area) — front-end damage after a parking-lot collision at the Shops at Willow Bend. Bumper cover, hood (aluminum), grille assembly, and front camera housing all needed replacement. Lucid Air front-end work is unusual for two reasons: (1) the entire hood assembly is structural aluminum that requires the full HV-system safe-disable procedure before any welding, and (2) Lucid OEM parts ship from California with multi-week lead times. We disabled the high-voltage system per the I-CAR EV-safety procedure, completed the structural welding in our segregated aluminum bay, then waited on parts. Color-matched Stellar White via spectrophotometer with a careful blend into the front fender. Recalibrated Lucid DreamDrive forward-camera suite. 22 business days door-to-door (parts wait dominated the timeline). Lucid's collision-direct program coordinated with the customer's Allstate policy.

2021 BMW X7 xDrive40i, Hunters Glen — left-side collision at the Park Boulevard / Custer Road intersection during morning commute. Driver-side rear door, B-pillar trim, rocker panel, and rear quarter panel all needed work; BMW's mixed-material construction (aluminum doors, high-strength steel B-pillar) requires the welder to switch tooling between bays. Frame measured 1.1mm within factory spec on the Blackhawk Korek bench — typical clean result on BMW unibodies. OEM BMW parts sourced through Sewell BMW (3-5 day lead on most). Repainted in Mineral White Metallic with a four-panel blend through to the front door to hide the door-edge transition. Recalibrated BMW Driving Assistant Pro side-radar and lane-keep camera on the Autel MaxiSys. 12 business days door-to-door; State Farm settled direct.

If any of these sound like your situation, start your estimate below or call (972) 219-0864 — we'll walk through what the repair will look like before you commit.

My entire experience with DG Collision and Shah was exceptional. I called a few places to get my Hummer EV repaired, but went with Shah because he was the friendliest and most informative. He kept me updated and dealt with insurance directly. Parts took a long time to arrive — final pieces were delivered to the wrong place and Shah personally went to the other shop to pick them up so I would get my car back sooner.

Common Questions

PLANO COLLISION REPAIR FAQ

How far is DG Collision from Plano?+
About 25-35 minutes door to door, depending on which side of Plano you start from. From north Plano (Legacy West, Toyota Motor North America, the Shops at Legacy) the fastest run is Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121) westbound to I-35E south, then Garden Ridge Blvd and Valley Ridge Blvd into the Metro Park Circle business area in Lewisville — about 25 minutes off-peak. From south or central Plano (Willow Bend, Park Forest, Hunters Glen, Historic Downtown Plano) the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT / SH 190) westbound to I-35E north is usually faster — about 30-35 minutes off-peak. Add 5-10 minutes during the SH 121 / DNT rush-hour stack.
Which route is fastest from my part of Plano?+
Rule of thumb: if you're north of Park Boulevard (Legacy West, Spring Creek Parkway corridor, north Plano along the SH 121 frontage), take Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121) westbound — fastest from anywhere on the north side of Plano. If you're south of Park Boulevard (Willow Bend, Hunters Glen, Russell Creek, Plano Centre area, downtown Plano), take President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT / SH 190) westbound to I-35E north — typically faster than fighting the SH 121 / DNT interchange at Sam Rayburn Plaza. Dallas North Tollway south to SH 121 west is the alternative if PGBT is jammed.
Do you handle customers from Legacy West, Willow Bend, and Toyota Motor North America?+
Yes — Plano corporate-corridor customers are a steady share of our weekly Plano volume. Legacy West (Toyota Motor North America HQ, Liberty Mutual, JPMorgan Chase, the Shops at Legacy) generates a steady stream of corporate-deck garage strikes, low-speed bumper contact, and parking-lot fender benders. The Shops at Willow Bend produces the weekend mall-lot flow. We also cover Hunters Glen, Russell Creek, Shoal Creek, Deerfield, Bent Tree, Park Forest, Hidden Hollow, and the Historic Downtown Plano Arts District. Free loaner cars, pickup coordination, and 24/7 towing across 75023, 75024, 75025, 75074, 75075, 75093, and 75094.
Do you pick up vehicles or provide loaner cars for Plano residents?+
Yes to both. Free loaner cars are available for any Plano customer whose vehicle is in for collision repair, subject to availability — we hand you the keys at drop-off so your commute to Legacy West, the Toyota or Liberty Mutual corporate campuses, downtown Dallas, or back into Frisco keeps moving. If your vehicle isn't safe to drive on SH 121, the DNT, or the PGBT, we coordinate customer pickups from anywhere in Plano and 24/7 towing across DFW. Call (972) 219-0864 to arrange.
Which insurance carriers do you work with for Plano customers?+
Every major carrier: State Farm, Allstate, Geico, USAA, Progressive, Liberty Mutual (whose own corporate HQ campus sits in Plano), Farmers, Nationwide, Travelers, Tesla Insurance, and more. Under Texas Insurance Code §1952.301, Plano drivers have the legal right to choose any licensed repair shop regardless of what's on their carrier's preferred-shop list. Your insurer must honor that choice. We handle the entire claim — supplements, parts negotiation, adjuster paperwork — directly, so you aren't chasing phone calls between Legacy West meetings.
Is my collision repair covered by a warranty?+
Yes. Every paint and refinish job carries a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle. If the paint ever peels, fades, or cracks from our work we make it right at no charge. Our structural and workmanship warranty covers labor for a full year on any subsequent issue. We've stood behind every repair since 1978.
Do you repair Tesla, Lucid, Rivian, and other EVs from Plano?+
Yes — EV repair is a fast-growing share of our Plano volume because West Plano has one of the highest EV-ownership densities in DFW. We hold I-CAR Platinum certification for structural repair and aluminum GMA welding (required on Tesla Model S / X aluminum, Lucid Air, Rivian R1T / R1S, and the high-voltage battery-tray substructures common across modern EVs), plus the I-CAR EV high-voltage safety credential needed to legally disable the HV system before any structural work. Full in-house ADAS recalibration on Tesla Autopilot, Lucid DreamDrive, Rivian Driver+, and every other EV ADAS suite. See our Tesla body shop and luxury repair service pages for capability detail.
What factors affect collision repair cost in Plano?+
Severity of damage, OEM parts availability, vehicle make and year, aluminum vs steel construction, and whether ADAS sensors need recalibration. Plano's driveway fleet runs heavily toward newer luxury SUVs and EVs (Range Rover Sport / Velar, BMW X5/X7, Audi Q7/Q8, Lexus RX/GX, Mercedes GLE/EQS, Tesla Model Y/X, Lucid Air, Rivian R1S) — which means parts often come through brand-specific dealer warehouses (longer lead times than mass-market) and ADAS recalibration is virtually always required post-repair. Your written estimate is free and itemized down to the labor hour.
Do I need an appointment?+
No. Walk-ins are welcome during business hours — Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:30pm and Saturday 10am-1pm. For Plano customers who want to minimize the tollway trip, text damage photos to (817) 907-2822 first and we'll give you a ballpark before you head west on SH 121 or PGBT.
How long will my repair take?+
Light cosmetic damage (Legacy West parking-deck door dings, Shops at Willow Bend mall-lot scrapes, bumper scuffs): 2-4 days. Typical bumper-and-panel repair: 5-7 business days. Luxury SUV or Tesla work with OEM parts on longer lead: 1-2 weeks. Lucid / Rivian work or major EV battery-tray reconstruction: 2-3+ weeks (parts sometimes ship from California or Michigan). Major collision damage requiring frame straightening or structural welding: 2-3 weeks. We text photo updates throughout and coordinate your loaner car so you aren't waiting without transportation.
Do I have to use my insurance company's preferred shop?+
No. Texas Insurance Code §1952.301 gives you the right to choose any licensed collision repair facility regardless of what's on your carrier's preferred-shop list. Just tell your adjuster: "I want my vehicle repaired at DG Collision Center, 693 Metro Park Cir, Lewisville, TX." That one sentence locks in your choice and we take over the paperwork.
Can you help with my deductible?+
On qualifying collision repairs we offer deductible assistance up to $1,000 — applied directly at pickup. Combined with our direct-to-insurance claim handling and free loaner, most Plano customers pay less out of pocket than they expected when they first called.

Collision Terminology

COLLISION REPAIR GLOSSARY

Quick reference for the technical terms that show up on estimates. Tap any term on mobile to expand.

OEM Parts (parts)
Original Equipment Manufacturer parts — made by the same supplier that produced the original part at the factory. Required for airbags, structural reinforcements, and crash sensors on every repair. On Plano's luxury and EV fleet, OEM parts often come direct from Tesla, Lucid, Rivian, BMW, Audi, JLR, or Lexus warehouses with longer lead times than mass-market parts.
ADAS (systems)
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — lane-departure cameras, blind-spot radar, adaptive cruise, parking sensors. Most ADAS components require recalibration after collision repair. We perform both static and dynamic calibrations per OEM spec.
EV Battery Tray Damage (Plano EV-fleet specialty)
The high-voltage battery tray in EVs (Tesla Model S / X / 3 / Y, Lucid Air, Rivian R1S / R1T, BMW iX, Audi e-tron, Mercedes EQS) is part of the structural floor of the vehicle. Even moderate side-impact or undercarriage damage can deform the battery tray, compromise battery-cell integrity, or trigger thermal warnings. Repairing it requires HV-system safe-disable per I-CAR EV-safety procedure, structural welding to OEM aluminum spec, and cell-pack diagnostic verification before re-energization. Plano's high EV-density household profile makes this a weekly capability — not an exception.
Tesla / Lucid Repair (Plano luxury-EV specialty)
The dominant EV brands in West Plano. Tesla repair work involves aluminum body panels (mostly Model S / X), high-strength steel cabin structure (Model 3 / Y), Tesla-direct OEM parts ordering, and Autopilot recalibration. Lucid Air repair work involves more aluminum (the entire body shell is aluminum), longer parts lead-times (parts ship from Casa Grande, AZ), and Lucid DreamDrive forward-camera recalibration. Both require I-CAR EV-safety credential to legally disable the HV system before any structural work.
Legacy West Garage-Strike Damage (Plano corporate-corridor pattern)
The Legacy West / Toyota Motor North America / Liberty Mutual / Shops at Legacy corporate corridor concentrates tens of thousands of executive and tech-worker vehicles into a small set of multi-level parking decks every weekday. The result is a high-volume flow of low-speed sideswipes, mirror strikes, door dings, and bumper curb-rash damage on luxury SUVs and EVs — the cosmetic-repair end of our Plano workload, often with same-week turnaround.
Texas §1952.301 (law)
Section of the Texas Insurance Code that guarantees policyholders the right to choose any licensed collision repair facility regardless of an insurer's preferred-shop list. Plano drivers are protected by this statute — important because most Plano insurers default to high-volume chain shops nearby that aren't always Gold Class.
Spectrophotometer (paint)
A handheld device that reads the exact color values of your vehicle's factory paint. Used to produce a mixing formula that matches the panel being refinished to the panels around it — critical for metallics and pearls (Tesla Pearl White Multi-Coat, Lucid Stellar White, Range Rover Santorini Black, Lexus Eminent White Pearl, BMW Mineral White Metallic).
Loaner Car (customer service)
A courtesy vehicle provided free of charge to customers whose vehicles are in for collision repair — DG maintains its own fleet of 50+ loaner vehicles. Covers the transportation gap when a customer's auto policy doesn't include rental reimbursement.
