Keller grew into a city of 46,000 without ever getting a freeway, so its traffic still runs on the bones of the old town: US 377 as the main street — stoplights, left turns, Old Town storefronts and all — and Keller Parkway carrying everything east–west from Keller Town Center to the Southlake line. Then twice a day the Keller ISD migration loads both at once: one of the larger school districts in Tarrant County moving its car lines, its teen drivers, and its three-row Suburbans and Telluride-class SUVs through the same intersections at the same minutes. Roads built for a ranch town, traffic built for a city — the bodywork follows.

Know Your Roads

The 377 rhythm is stop-and-go with a main-street twist. Signal after signal through Old Town, driveways and center-turn moves between them, and through-traffic that treats 377 as the Roanoke–Fort Worth shortcut. The output is the low-speed rear-ender in volume — bumpers that look scuffed and hide crushed absorbers, bent brackets, and parking sensors knocked out of spec — plus the left-turn clips that come from storefront pull-outs meeting through traffic. We tear down before we quote, because on this class of hit the visible damage is routinely a third of the real damage.

The parkway and the school run write the rest. Keller Parkway’s signalized crossings — Keller Smithfield, Rufe Snow, Bear Creek — host the classic T-bone and door-impact set, concentrated at bell times when car lines spill onto the arterials and teen drivers are learning in real traffic. Weekends shift the action to parking: the sports-park lots and Town Center rows where wide SUVs trade door edges and bumper corners.
