TL;DR

Keller has logged 24 hail days since 2015 in or within five miles of the city, 20 of them with hail an inch or larger — and unusually, the record names Keller’s own streets: quarter-size at Keller Parkway and US 377 in March 2019, then at 1709 and Davis after midnight the same night; quarters at Anita and Keller Parkway in June 2019; a measured two-inch stone just southeast of town on May 27, 2024; half-dollar hail from Old Town Keller to Davis Boulevard on April 28, 2026; and quarter-size at Park Vista and Keller Haslet Road on August 26, 2026 — the second verified Keller event this year. The five-mile ring adds the heavy stuff: a 3.25-inch stone near Hillcrest Airfield in April 2021, three inches west of Roanoke in March 2024, tennis-ball hail in Roanoke in June 2023, and August’s 1.5-inch hail on the Alliance corridor. Keller is 30–35 minutes from our floor — or zero, with free door-to-door pickup and loaner delivery across 76244 and 76248. Published pricing (light $750–$1,500, typical full-vehicle claim $2,500–$8,000), direct carrier billing, and the first $1,000 of qualifying hail-claim deductibles covered.

  • Two events in 2026 already: half-dollar across the city April 28, quarter-size at Park Vista & Keller Haslet August 26 — both in the NWS record.
  • The record names your streets: 1709 & 377, 1709 & Davis, Anita & Keller Parkway, Old Town to Davis, Park Vista — not just “near Keller.”
  • The ring is heavy: 3.25″ near Hillcrest Airfield (2021), 3.00″ west of Roanoke (2024), a measured 2.00″ southeast of Keller (2024).
  • 30–35 minutes, or none: free pickup with the loaner delivered to your driveway anywhere in 76244 and 76248.

2026, By The Record

TWO VERIFIED HAIL EVENTS IN ONE YEAR — AND THE YEAR ISN’T OVER

Most of our city pages carry an honest line about how quiet the current year has been. Keller doesn’t get that line. On the evening of April 28, 2026, the last round of the four-day April outbreak put hail up to half-dollar size across the city — the NWS entry reads “several social media photos and reports of hail up to half dollar size across Keller from Old Town Keller to Davis,” logged at 5:35 PM. That is not a ring report; that is the whole town, at dinner hour. Then on August 26, 2026, a trained spotter logged dime-size hail with sporadic quarters at Park Vista Blvd and Keller Haslet Road at 5:55 PM — the northwest edge, where Keller runs into north Fort Worth — four minutes before the same cell dropped 1.5-inch hail on the Alliance corridor. The full log for that evening is on our August 26 storm page.

Two things that record means for a Keller driveway. First, a car that has lived outside in Keller this year has very likely met hail twice, and the April round was the one that dents: half-dollar stones mark hoods, roofs and deck lids on steel, and dimple aluminum truck panels at even smaller sizes. Second, the calendar isn’t done — our DFW hail-season data shows a real September–November second season, and Keller’s own record has a November quarter-size entry from 2021 and a September round on I-35 in 2022 to prove it. An April dent and an August dent on the same hood are still one honest, dated claim — if the documentation exists. That’s the free part.

The Public Record

KELLER’S HAIL RECORD — 1″+ DAYS SINCE 2015

Each row is one National Weather Service local storm report, logged in Keller or within five miles of the city center. That ring reaches the Alliance and Roanoke seams to the west and north, Southlake to the east, and Watauga and North Richland Hills to the south — and what sets Keller apart is how often the entries name the city’s own intersections instead of a distance and a compass bearing. Remember the limits of a point report: a street with no spotter can be hit and never appear, and a pin two miles off doesn’t guarantee your car was under it.

Read the middle column and Keller’s exposure has two shapes. Inside the city, the stones run quarter to half-dollar — the size that dents a hood without cracking paint, exactly what paintless dent repair is for. On the ring, especially the Roanoke and Alliance sides, the record runs to two, three and three-and-a-quarter inches. A Keller car that commutes northwest on 377 or 170 lives in both records at once.

After The Storm

KELLER PARKWAY GETS THE TENTS WITHIN A WEEK

Keller Parkway’s retail frontage and the big subdivision loops off Davis and Rufe Snow are exactly what a traveling hail crew looks for after a verified event — visible, dense, and full of outdoor-parked SUVs. After April 28 they were here within days; after August 26 they were already staged on the Alliance corridor. Some traveling techs are skilled. None of their warranties have an address. Ours has had the same one since 1978, thirty minutes down the road they canvassed in on.

Two things to refuse at the door. A same-day signature that assigns your claim rights before anyone has written an estimate — that’s a contract, not a courtesy. And the deductible “handled” by inflating the estimate to hide it: Texas Penal Code §35.02 calls that insurance fraud, and it’s filed under the policyholder’s name, not the tent’s. The honest version of that offer is printed, capped and funded from a shop’s own margin — ours is — and the ten questions in our choose-a-shop guide sort a real shop from a folding table in a single phone call.

Published Numbers

WHAT HAIL REPAIR COSTS FOR KELLER

One table site-wide, storm or no storm. Depth in the DFW hail cost guide; your quick number from the estimator.

Damage levelPublished rangeNotes
Single dents (cash PDR)$50–$150 per dentPlus R&I trim labor when panels or trim must come off for access
Light — 1–2 panels$750–$1,500The August 26 class — scattered quarters on a hood and roof
Deep dents on 1–2 panels$1,500–$4,000Half-dollar strikes like April 28’s, concentrated on a panel or two
Several panels, clear coat intact$2,000–$5,000A citywide round that peppered the whole topside
Several panels, deep or cracked paint$5,000–$10,000+PDR plus conventional refinish where paint broke
Typical full-vehicle claim$2,500–$8,000Where most carrier-paid hail claims land
Full vehicle, dense but clear$5,000–$9,000Roof, hood, deck lid, both sides
Full vehicle, deep / glass / cracked paint$7,500–$15,000+The ring’s three-inch class — total-loss math can enter

A note for a city full of trucks: an aluminum F-150 hood shrugs off small stones better than thin steel, then work-hardens around every dent it does take, which is why the slow-and-warm PDR technique matters and why volume tents skip it — our F-150 hail page and the Silverado & Sierra two-metals page explain the difference panel by panel. When the ring’s three-inch class meets an older vehicle, the total-loss math and the Texas title quirk that favors hail owners are in the will-hail-total guide.

The Insurance Side

THE KELLER HAIL CLAIM, PLAINLY

Three facts carry a Keller hail claim, and none of them are ours. Under Tex. Ins. Code §1952.301 the repair shop and the parts are the policyholder’s call — when the claims line offers a network shop, that offer is a suggestion with no legal weight behind it. Under 28 TAC §5.7016 a carrier may not refuse to renew a personal auto policy solely over weather claims. And hail files as comprehensive: no fault assigned, nothing on the driving record. What the rules don’t do is freeze anyone’s premium — the rates guide walks the real levers, including the territory-wide increases that follow a storm year whether a claim was filed or not.

What we carry from there is the paperwork nobody enjoys: the dent map drawn under reading lights, a submission built to the carrier’s format, direct billing with every major carrier, and the supplements an honest teardown produces — in our 2026 State Farm files, every hail claim needed at least one, and documented submissions still cleared in about a week. You open the claim and hand us the number; the adjuster correspondence is ours after that. Your out-of-pocket is the deductible, paid once, with the first $1,000 covered on qualifying hail claims. The date-of-loss question that stalls so many hail claims has two easy answers in Keller this year — April 28 and August 26, both in the federal record. Liability-only policy? Then the table above is a cash conversation, and the liability-only guide is the honest place to start.

Keller Hail Questions

KELLER HAIL REPAIR FAQ

Was there hail in Keller on August 26, 2026?+
Yes. A trained spotter reported dime-size hail with sporadic quarters (logged at 1.00″) at Park Vista Blvd and Keller Haslet Road at 5:55 PM — the northwest edge of the city — four minutes before the same cell dropped 1 to 1.5-inch hail on the Alliance corridor. Quarter-size is the threshold that dents hoods and roofs, so cars outside in northwest Keller that evening are worth a raking-light check.
Was there hail in Keller in April 2026?+
Yes — the bigger of this year’s two events. On April 28, 2026, the last round of the four-day April outbreak put hail up to half-dollar size (1.25″) across the city; the NWS entry reads “across Keller from Old Town Keller to Davis,” logged at 5:35 PM. Half-dollar stones dent steel hoods and roofs and dimple aluminum panels, and that damage is still claimable today with a dated, documented estimate.
What’s the biggest hail logged near Keller?+
In the city’s own entries, a measured 2-inch stone just southeast of Keller on May 27, 2024. In the five-mile ring, hail slightly larger than 3.25 inches near Hillcrest Airfield on April 28, 2021, three-inch hail west of Roanoke on March 14, 2024, and tennis-ball hail in Roanoke on June 11, 2023. Stones in that class crack paint and glass; repairs combine PDR with conventional panel and refinish work.
How often does Keller actually get hail?+
The NWS log shows 24 hail days since 2015 in Keller or within five miles, 20 of them with hail an inch or larger — roughly two damaging days a year, with 2026 already at two. Keller’s record is unusual in naming the city’s own intersections: 1709 and 377, 1709 and Davis, Anita and Keller Parkway, Old Town to Davis, Park Vista and Keller Haslet. A car that lives outside here has met hail, statistically, more than once.
What does hail repair cost in Keller?+
The same published table every DG page uses. A light job on one or two panels — the August 26 class — runs $750–$1,500; deep dents concentrated on a panel or two, $1,500–$4,000; a citywide round like April 28 that peppered the whole topside with paint intact, $2,000–$5,000; the typical full-vehicle carrier claim lands at $2,500–$8,000, and severe damage with cracked paint or glass at $7,500–$15,000+. Paying cash for a dent or two, PDR is $50–$150 per dent plus R&I trim labor if a panel has to come off for access. Qualifying hail claims get the first $1,000 of the deductible covered.
Will a hail claim raise my rates or get me nonrenewed?+
Nonrenewal first, because it’s the real fear: 28 TAC §5.7016 stops a carrier from dropping a personal auto policy solely because of weather claims, hail included. Premiums are a different question — no Texas statute caps what a renewal can do, so we won’t promise your rate won’t move. What the record shows is that a comprehensive hail claim is rated nothing like an at-fault crash, and that the increases Keller drivers actually see after a year like this one are territory-wide filings that land on every policy in the ZIP, filed or not. The rates guide has the full mechanics.
Can you pick my car up in Keller?+
Anywhere in 76244 or 76248, free. The car leaves your driveway on our truck and a loaner from the 50+ fleet takes its spot the same trip — drivers 18 and up with a license and insurance card, no deposit, no mileage limit — and the car comes back finished. At thirty-plus minutes each way, the pickup is most of the reason Keller customers use us. Timing depends on the dent map: light PDR is a matter of days, supplement-heavy jobs run longer, and we quote from the map rather than guessing before it. (General information, not legal advice.)
