Search results treat the east shore of Lewisville Lake as one word: Little Elm. The weather record doesn’t. Scroll the table below and the entries land in Hackberry (hen-egg hail at a quarter past midnight in April 2017), Lakewood Village (1.5 inches, measured, at 3:22 AM in February 2022), Lincoln Park (three separate rounds, the latest in September 2025), Savannah on the 380 side, and the Frisco Lakes retirement community on the ring’s east seam. Those towns are too small to earn their own pages from anyone — including us — but they live inside Little Elm’s five-mile ring, and every one of them is inside our free pickup zone. The peninsula’s growth is the other half of the story. Most of the housing between FM 423 and the lake is newer than the storms in this table — which means the cars in those driveways are newer too, and hail math changes on a newer car: leases get inspected at turn-in, trade-ins get appraised under bright lights, and a roof full of shallow dents quietly becomes real money. The Calendar

HAIL IN EIGHT MONTHS OF THE YEAR

Every DFW city peaks in spring — the metro-wide numbers are in our hail-season data guide. What Little Elm’s ring adds is range. Since 2015 its inch-plus record touches January (a quarter-size round near Hackberry, January 10, 2020), February (the 3 AM Lakewood Village round of 2022), March through June every which way, July (quarters at FM 423 and Panther Creek Parkway, July 9, 2017 — midsummer, at dinner time), and September (Lincoln Park, 2025). Eight of twelve months. The two calendar quirks worth knowing: the ring’s two April 11 entries are different years — the 2016 in-town baseball and the 2017 after-midnight Hackberry round — and more than one entry here lands between midnight and dawn, when nobody sees the storm, only the aftermath.

That spread has a practical edge: a dent discovered in November doesn’t mean a claim denied. It means the date of loss needs establishing — and this table, built from the federal log, is how it’s done. Match the damage pattern to a logged date, write the estimate against it, and the claim stands on record instead of memory. That’s work we do free, and when the honest match is “this looks like parking-lot damage, not hail,” you’ll hear that instead.

The Public Record

LITTLE ELM’S HAIL RECORD — 1″+ DAYS SINCE 2015

Each row is a National Weather Service local storm report logged in Little Elm or within five miles of town — a ring that takes in the whole peninsula, the lake towns north and south, and the Frisco seam east. Point reports are exactly that: a pin where somebody stood. A quiet cul-de-sac can be hit with no entry, and a pin across the lake doesn’t prove your car was under it. Dates are what the log proves, and dates decide claims.

Two honest footnotes. The ring’s 3.5-inch maximum fell on the Frisco side of the seam — Frisco’s own record is on its page — and the June 2, 2026 egg-size entry is pinned in The Colony near Lebanon Road, at the ring’s south edge; the full evening, city by city, is on our June 2, 2026 storm page. Neither pin cares about a city-limit sign, and neither does a storm cell three miles wide.

After The Storm

THE TENTS FIND FM 423 FAST

A verified storm over a boomtown corridor brings the traveling crews within days — FM 423’s shopping-center lots between 380 and Eldorado are made for a pop-up canopy, and thousands of newer trucks and SUVs in open driveways are the inventory they came for. By the time the lake cools each fall, they’re gone. Skill varies tent to tent; what never varies is that their warranty leaves when they do, and that newer aluminum truck panels punish the high-volume, glue-and-go approach. Before anyone at your door gets a signature, read the nine tells of a hail-repair scam — every tell tied to the Texas statute that exposes it.

The short version for the doorstep: a contract signed at your home can be canceled until midnight of the third business day — Texas law, and a reputable shop won’t mind you using it — and any offer to make your deductible “disappear” inside an inflated estimate is insurance fraud under Tex. Penal Code §35.02, carried in your name long after the tent moves on. A deductible program that’s legal looks like ours: printed on the estimate, capped, funded from the shop’s own margin, with the carrier billed honestly.

The Insurance Side

Hail lands on the comprehensive side of your policy — no fault, no points, nothing that follows your driving record. The shop is your call and only yours: Tex. Ins. Code §1952.301 gives the policyholder the choice of repairer and parts, so a claims-line nudge toward a network shop is a preference, not a rule. Renewal fear has a statute too: 28 TAC §5.7016 bars nonrenewal of a personal auto policy solely for weather claims.
