We’ve compiled eleven years of National Weather Service storm reports for every city on our map, and Denton owns the heavyweight records. April 11, 2016: the log reads “grapefruit size hail at Audra Lane and East McKinney St” — four inches, in town, on the east side. Why Denton? After any logged storm, canvassing crews work Denton’s apartment complexes with a precision the rest of the metro doesn’t see — because a lot full of student cars is a lot full of first-time claim filers who’ve never vetted a shop.
