Addison runs on a famous imbalance: a few square miles of town whose daytime workforce dwarfs the number of people who sleep here. The one time Addison’s hail showed up in daylight, it picked the least seasonal month available. On August 16, 2020 — a Sunday evening in the dead of summer — a storm ran quarters straight down the spine of the town: penny-to-quarter hail near the Dallas North Tollway and 635 at 6:57 PM, dime-to-nickel stones at the Tollway and Verde Valley Lane minutes later, and an emergency-management entry at Valley View and Alpha on the Farmers Branch side by 7:03. No other ring we’ve compiled has its signature daylight event in August — a fitting distinction for a town that never quite follows the metro’s schedule.

Quarter-size is the threshold class — shallow, paint-safe dents that clean PDR erases, and precisely the damage that gets ignored on a leased sedan until an inspector prices it at turn-in. If a car was outdoors along the Tollway that evening — or any dated evening in the table below — a five-minute raking-light check settles what it left, and a texted photo settles it for free.
