Most hail records scatter across a map. Euless’s keeps returning to one address. In June 2018, a ham operator logged hail at Euless Main Street and Highway 183 at 2:21 in the morning, minutes after golf balls fell south of DFW Airport. In April 2020, the entry reads “quarter to slightly larger” at Hwy 10 and Euless Main — 10:40 on a Sunday morning. And on August 1, 2021, an emergency manager reported golf-ball hail near 183 and Main Street on the same afternoon an NWS employee relayed golf balls at the FAA’s air-route traffic control center on the city’s south side — the building that directs the region’s airliners, catching hail in August. Three storms, three different clocks, one street.

The Memorial Day barrage of 2024 is the storm every Mid-Cities record shares — but it didn’t treat every city equally, and it treated Euless last and hardest. After working Colleyville, Hurst and Bedford for half an hour — two-inch stones in the Morrisdale neighborhood, a baseball north of Bedford, half-dollars by Wilshire Elementary — the storm crossed into Euless as it peaked: a hen egg two miles southwest of town at 7:22 PM, then the entry that reads like a period at the end of a sentence — “baseball size hail euless” — 2.75 inches, seven-tenths of a mile from the city center, at 7:27. Ping-pong stones were still falling south of town at 7:34, the barrage’s final logged minutes anywhere.

Baseball-class hail is the full-damage tier: cratered hoods and roofs, cracked glass, broken paint — combination repair rather than clean PDR, and on older vehicles the start of total-loss arithmetic. Two-plus years later, some of that damage is still driving around Euless unrepaired — and still claimable, because the date is beyond argument.
